Located deep within the Western Ghats’ lush forests, Dudhsagar Waterfall Trek is one of India’s most spectacular natural wonders.
Cascading over 310 m in four tiers and spanning 30 m wide, aptly named the “Sea of Milk” for its breathtaking milky-white roar. Situated within the protected Bhagwan Mahaveer Wildlife Sanctuary and Mollem National Park, Dudhsagar straddles the Goa–Karnataka border, offering more than just scenery—it’s an immersive nature escape.
Your Journey With Backpackclan
Start at Kulem Station, where your trek begins. You’ll walk approximately 12 km one-way (~24 km round‑trip) across a scenic jungle trail and along iconic railroad tracks made famous in Bollywood films. The trail weaves through tunnel passages, over creeping vegetation, and lush, mist-clad landscapes, taking around 4–5 hours each way, rated easy to moderate—but stamina and care are key, especially during monsoon.

When to Go
Although monsoon season (June–September) brings the waterfall to life, heavy rains may restrict access. For the best blend of flow, access, and safer trails, post‑monsoon (October–December) is ideal. Many travelers prefer this window to enjoy the waterfall at its peak with more stable conditions.

Inclusion/Exclusion
Departure from Pune
Participants are requested to assemble at Pune Railway Station, Platform No. 3 by 3:00 PM. The group will board the Goa Express at 4:35 PM, beginning the overnight journey toward Kulem, the starting point of the Dudhsagar Waterfall Trek. Get to know your fellow trekkers and relax as the scenic train ride sets the tone for the adventure ahead.
Dudhsagar Waterfall Trek
Upon arrival at Kulem Station around 5:30 AM, the group will begin the trek toward Dudhsagar Waterfall by 6:00 AM, entering the Bhagwan Mahaveer Wildlife Sanctuary. This jungle trail trek spans approximately 12 km one way and offers an easy to moderate challenge, with multiple stream crossings, dense forest cover, and captivating natural beauty. A packed breakfast will be provided en route.
By around 10:00 AM, the group will reach the base of the majestic Dudhsagar Waterfall, where you'll have time to relax, enjoy the view, and click memorable photographs. After spending quality time near the waterfall, the return trek to Kulem will commence at 11:30 AM.
The group is expected to reach Kulem Guest House by 3:00 PM. Freshen up and enjoy a wholesome vegetarian lunch between 3:30 PM and 4:30 PM.
Participants from Mumbai will then proceed to Madgaon Station via train or local transport and board the 12620 Matsyagandha Express for the return journey
Arrival in Mumbai
Mumbai participants will arrive at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) around 6:35 AM, marking the end of a memorable and adventurous experience with Backpackclan.

46 Days or more before date of departure: 25% of total cost. | 31 - 45 Days before date of departure: 50% of total cost. | 30 days before date of departure: 100% of total cost.
Any increase in cost because of change in the itinerary due to reasons beyond our control (force majeure) like landslides, riots, traffic jams etc. | Any dispute is subject to Delhi jurisdiction only.
