Welcome to Himachal Pradesh – the Abode of Snow! Upon arrival in Solang Valley, check in to your alpine tent accommodation. Spend the day acclimatizing to the altitude and getting to know your fellow trekkers and trek leader.
Use this time to explore the nearby surroundings and ensure all your gear is in place for a smooth trekking experience starting tomorrow.

Acclimatization Hike – Patalsu Trail
Begin your day with an acclimatization hike along the scenic Patalsu Trail, designed to help your body adjust to the higher altitude. The trail starts near the Beas River, offering picturesque views of the surrounding Himalayan landscape.
As you ascend approximately 500 meters, you'll walk through serene alpine forests of brown oak, horse chestnut, and spruce, with occasional clearings that offer great photo stops and rest points. Throughout the hike, enjoy glimpses of the Bara Bangal mountain range in the distance.
Return to the camp in Solang Valley after the hike for rest and overnight stay.

Trek to Lady Leg via Burwa – Steep Ascent & Scenic Views
After an early breakfast at Solang Valley, begin your journey with a shared SUV transfer to the trailhead. From here, you'll start your ascent to Lady Leg, one of the key acclimatization points before the summit attempt.
Unlike the previous day, today's trail is steeper and more demanding, pushing your endurance and stamina. As you climb, you’ll pass through vast green meadows that open up to breathtaking views of the Pir Panjal and Dhauladhar ranges. The route also offers glimpses of ancient glaciers, adding to the dramatic Himalayan scenery.
Along the trail, the landscape is adorned with yellow wildflowers, bringing warmth and contrast to the cool mountain air. The higher you go, the more expansive the vistas become. Once you reach Lady Leg (approx. 12,800 ft), you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views of Beas Kund, Hanuman Tibba, and the towering snow-covered peaks of the Himalayas.
After spending some time at Lady Leg to acclimatize and enjoy the views, descend slightly to Burwa campsite, where you’ll check in to dome tents and rest for the night.

Acclimatization & Snowcraft Training at Lady Leg
Today is dedicated to acclimatization and technical training, crucial for your upcoming summit attempt. After breakfast, your trek leader will guide you through a basic mountaineering session, focusing on skills essential for navigating icy terrain safely.
You will be introduced to and trained on the use of crampons and ice axes, practicing movement techniques on snow-covered slopes. This session will help boost your confidence and preparedness for the high-altitude conditions ahead.
The rest of the day is free for light activity—take short acclimatization hikes around the area or simply soak in the spectacular views from Lady Leg, with the Himalayan giants towering all around.
Return to camp for a warm dinner and overnight stay in Burwa.

Training Continuation & Midnight Summit Push to Friendship Peak
Your day begins with the final session of technical training, covering advanced snowcraft techniques and important dos and don’ts for summit night. The goal is to ensure you're fully prepared—both mentally and physically—for the Friendship Peak summit attempt.
During the day, you'll have some leisure time to explore the surrounding alpine terrain, rich in Himalayan flora and fauna. Rest well and hydrate, as the summit climb begins around midnight.
Equipped with crampons, ice axe, and head torch, you’ll embark on an 8–9 hour ascent to the summit of Friendship Peak (17,328 ft). The route is steep, icy, and physically demanding, passing through rugged terrain and snowfields.
A key highlight of the climb is the sunrise, as golden rays break through the jagged Himalayan skyline—an unforgettable moment. After a rewarding push, you’ll reach the summit, with panoramic views of towering peaks and the Beas Kund basin below.
After spending a short time at the summit, you'll begin your descent back to Lady Leg/Burwa, where hot meals and rest await.

After successfully reaching the Friendship Peak summit, begin your descent along the same steep trail, now illuminated by the soft glow of daylight. Witness a breathtaking sunrise as the sun rises between the towering Himalayan peaks, casting golden hues over the snow-clad landscape.
At the summit (17,328 ft), take time to absorb the panoramic views of Pir Panjal, Dhauladhar, and the endless Himalayan range—a moment of triumph after a challenging climb. After brief rest and celebration at the top, start your descent back to Lady Leg.
The downward trail, though easier than the ascent, still demands focus. However, in the daylight, the views take on a whole new perspective, allowing you to truly appreciate the vastness of the terrain you’ve conquered.
You’ll reach the Lady Leg campsite by late afternoon or evening, where you can relax and recover from your summit push.
