Kauri Pass: A Gateway to Himalayan Splendor Kauri Pass, nestled in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand, is a stunning trekking destination that offers panoramic views of themighty Himalayan peaks. At an altitude of approximately 3,800 meters (12,467 feet), it serves as a vantage point to admire peaks like Nanda Devi, Dronagiri, Hathi Ghoda, and Kamet, making it a paradise for trekkers and nature enthusiasts. The trek is steeped in history, as the pass was famously crossed by Lord Curzon in the early 1900s, which is why it is sometimes referred to as the Curzon Trail. Starting from Joshimath, the trail meanders through dense oak and rhododendron forests, quaint mountain villages, and lush meadows, offering a rich tapestry of
natural beauty and cultural encounters. One of the highlights of the trek is the serene camping experience in lush green meadows, surrounded by towering mountains and under a starlit sky. The trail also passes through the Auli Bugyal, a world-renowned ski destination, adding an extra layer of charm. Kauri Pass is an ideal trek for both beginners and experienced adventurers, offering a moderate challenge with unparalleled rewards. It’s not just a trek but a journey into the heart of the Himalayas, where tranquility and grandeur blend seamlessly.

We begin terribly early from Dehradun and reach Joshimath by evening. The drive is thruogh the cities of Devprayag, Rudraprayag and Karnaprayag. we tend to rest in the dead of night during a hotel.

After breakfast, drive from Joshimath to Dhak, where the trek begins. The trail ascends through open terrain and passes two villages before entering a forest. After a few kilometers, reach the Guling campsite, offering stunning views of Dunagiri Peak.

The path these days encompasses a gradual slope up. we tend to walk among oak, shrub and pine forests. Khullara is associate degree open grassland with a read of close peaks like Dunagiri, Hathi and Ghodi

After an early breakfast, begin an uphill trek to the pass. After crossing a ridge, the trail leads to the pass, offering a brief pause for stunning views. Retrace steps to the ridge, then head towards Taali via Chitrakantha, a viewpoint with breathtaking vistas of peaks like Chaukhamba, Neelkanth, and Dunagiri. Descend into the forest to reach Taali, a serene campsite surrounded by dense woods.

The trek is easy as the forest clears quickly. Passing the often-frozen Taali Lake, we head towards Auli, enjoying clearer views of Nanda Devi peak. Crossing the vast Gorson Bugyal grassland, we enter a forest before reaching Auli, the popular skiing destination. From here, a vehicle takes us back to Joshimath.

The trek is easy as the forest clears quickly. Passing the often-frozen Taali Lake, we head towards Auli, enjoying clearer views of Nanda Devi peak. Crossing the vast Gorson Bugyal grassland, we enter a forest before reaching Auli, the popular skiing destination. From here, a vehicle takes us back to Joshimath.

Cancellations received less than 45 days prior to departure will be subject to the following forfeit | Before 45 days: 25% of tour cost | 45 - 30 days: 50 % of tour cost | 30 - 20 days: 75% of tour cost | Within 20 days: 100% of tour cost | No exception to this policy can be made for any reason.

46 Days or more before date of departure: 25% of total cost. | 31 - 45 Days before date of departure: 50% of total cost. | 30 days before date of departure: 100% of total cost.

Any increase in cost because of change in the itinerary due to reasons beyond our control (force majeure) like landslides, riots, traffic jams etc. | Any dispute is subject to Delhi jurisdiction only.
