The journey starts from Thakurwadi village and takes you on an 8 km trek through monsoon-kissed forests, refreshing streams, and gentle slopes. Standing tall at 2,300 ft (701 m), Prabalmachi offers breathtaking sights, especially during the rainy season when the landscape transforms into a lush green paradise.

Just 47 km from Mumbai (1.5–2 hrs by road) and about 118 km from Pune (3–4 hrs), this trek is easily accessible for city dwellers. The trail usually takes 2–3 hours to complete, making it a perfect weekend getaway in the monsoons.

As you reach the Prabalmachi plateau, you’ll be welcomed by misty valleys, cool mountain breeze, and mesmerizing views of the Kalavantin Durg and Prabalgad Fort—two majestic peaks that guard the village like timeless watchtowers.

Trek to Prabalmachi and Return
The adventure begins early in the morning as you meet the Backpackclan Team at Panvel Station by 7:30 AM. Shortly after, around 7:45 AM, the group will travel to the base village via shared transport or private vehicle. Upon arrival, a short break at 8:00 AM will allow time for breakfast, tea, and light refreshments.

By 9:00 AM, you’ll reach the base village, where an introduction round and a briefing on trek rules and safety measures will take place. The trek starts soon after and takes you through lush, monsoon-soaked trails. By 11:15 AM, you’ll arrive at the top of Prabalmachi, where you can enjoy the cool breeze, misty views, and the satisfaction of completing the climb.

A hot vegetarian lunch will be served at 12:00 PM, followed by a bit of rest and exploration. The descent begins around 1:15 PM, with the group reaching the base village by 2:30 PM. From there, you'll begin your return journey to Panvel via private transport, reaching Panvel Railway Station by 4:00 PM, wrapping up a memorable and refreshing trekking experience.

Any increase in cost because of change in the itinerary due to reasons beyond our control (force majeure) like landslides, riots, traffic jams etc. | Any dispute is subject to Delhi jurisdiction only.
