Description

The Chardham Yatra is a pilgrimage tour of four sacred Hindu temples in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath are the four temples that comprise Chota Char Dham (small four abodes).

The yatra usually begins in April/May and ends in October/November, which is the best time to visit the region. The journey takes about 10 days and passes through some of the most scenic locations in Uttarakhand’s Himalayan region.

The first stop on the yatra is Yamunotri, where devotees pray to the goddess Yamuna. The pilgrimage continues to Gangotri, where devotees worship the goddess Ganga. The third stop is Kedarnath, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, where devotees pay homage to Lord Shiva. The final stop on the yatra is Badrinath, where devotees pray to Lord Vishnu.

For Hindus, the Chardham Yatra is a highly auspicious pilgrimage that draws a large number of devotees every year. The yatra is not just a religious journey but also offers an opportunity to witness the natural beauty of the Himalayan region.
