Day 1 – Trek to Triund Top and Stay at Triund Top (8 km)

Triund

– Assemble and Luggage Drop: Gather at the designated starting point, where you’ll have the opportunity to drop off any unnecessary luggage, making your trek experience more comfortable and enjoyable.

– Orientation at 9:45 AM: Meet your fellow trekkers and get an orientation of the day’s plan and the trek ahead. This is the time to get any last-minute information from your trek leader and prepare for the adventure.

– Trek to Triund: Start your journey towards Triund Top. The trek will take approximately 4-5 hours, covering a distance of around 8 km. You’ll trek through lush forests, oak and rhododendron trees, and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mountains as you ascend.

– Arrival at Triund: Reach Triund before sunset. The view from the top, with the Dhauladhar Range and Kangra Valley in the distance, is simply breathtaking. Make sure to capture this once-in-a-lifetime view, as the sunset here is a sight you’ll never forget.

– Camping at Triund: Once you arrive, set up your camp and enjoy the tranquility of this high-altitude campsite. Relax as the evening sets in, with the stars above and the mountains around you.

– Dinner and Campfire: Gather around the campfire, share stories, and enjoy a scrumptious dinner with your fellow trekkers.

– Retire for the Night: After an exciting and fulfilling day, retire to your tent and rest under the starlit sky, ready for the adventures that await the next day.

Day 2 – Trek to Laka Glacier and Stay at Laka Glacier (6 km)

– Breakfast and Preparation: Start your day with a wholesome breakfast to energize yourself for the trek ahead. The journey to Laka Glacier is just as spectacular as the views you’ll encounter along the way.

– Trek to Laka Got Glacier: Begin your trek to Laka Glacier, a 6 km trail that will take you through challenging terrain, snow patches, and beautiful alpine scenery. As you ascend, you’ll be surrounded by snow-capped peaks and rugged landscapes.

– Visit Lahesh Caves (weather permitting): If the weather allows, and your trek leader gives the go-ahead, you will visit the Lahesh Caves. These caves are a fascinating stop along the trail, offering shelter and a unique insight into the natural history of the region.

– Lunch Stop: Pause for lunch surrounded by stunning views of the snow-clad mountains and glaciers. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere while refueling for the rest of your trek.

– Arrival at Laka Glacier: Upon reaching Laka Glacier, take in the mesmerizing views of the ice-covered landscape. The glacier offers an incredible sight, and if the weather is favorable, you can even play in the snow and build a snowman or simply relax and take in the scenery.

– Campfire and Dinner: As the evening approaches, set up camp and gather around the campfire. Share stories with your fellow trekkers, enjoy the warmth, and have a delicious dinner prepared by the team.

– Retire for the Night: Depending on the weather conditions, you will either camp at Laka Glacier or descend back to Triund. If the conditions are unfavorable for camping at the glacier, you will return to the Triund campsite for a more comfortable stay.

Day 3 – Back to McLeodganj (14 km)

McLeodganj

– Breakfast and Preparation: Start the day with a hearty breakfast at the campsite. Take a moment to soak in the last views of the mountain scenery before beginning your descent.

– Trek Down to McLeodganj: Begin your 14 km trek back to McLeodganj. The descent is scenic and offers a different perspective of the landscapes you trekked through earlier. The trail will take you through dense forests, small villages, and winding paths, giving you one final chance to enjoy the beauty of the region.

– End of the Trek: Once you reach McLeodganj, your trek comes to a close. You’ll be greeted with a sense of accomplishment and the joy of having completed one of the most beautiful treks in Himachal Pradesh.

– Departure and Memories: After reaching McLeodganj, you’ll have some time to relax and reflect on your adventure. Your journey ends with wonderful lifetime memories of the majestic Laka Glacier, the stunning Triund Peak, and the beautiful landscapes of the Himalayas.
