DAY 1 – ARRIVAL IN MANALI
First day is for acclimatization, as it is very crucial for the entire trip. Reach the hotel/accommodation on your own; our representatives will meet you there. Spend the day in Manali, famous for its adventure based activities and also a popular honeymoon destination. If you are not into both, you can also enjoy the Hippie culture of Old Manali. After relaxing and mentally preparing for the trip, have dinner and sleep early, as tomorrow the adventure starts.

DAY 2 – MANALI – MARHI
The Cycling tour begins today; we will depart for Marhi, the place from where the climb of Rohtang La starts. We will leave the lush green valley of Manali. We will ride 35kms approximately on this day, crossing places like; Palchan, Kothi and Gulaba. Marhi has a great view of the Magnanimous Pir Pnajal range and the Rohtang la.

DAY 3 –  MARHI – SISSU
Wake up to the beautiful view of the Range and the valley below. We will cross our first pass today, Rohtang la (13,050 ft). After spending a short time at the pass, descend down to the Lahaul valley. While Manali had Beas River, this side of the pass has the Chandra River. After crossing Rohtang La the traffic becomes minimal and the mountain peaks become higher. You will also see many waterfalls along the way and snow-capped peaks. Spend the night at a Camp in Sissu.

DAY 4 – SISSU – PATSEO
After a scrumptious breakfast we will leave for Patsio/Patseo. We will ride along the Chandra River till Tandi, where we see the confluence of Chandra and Bhaga, known as Chandrabhaga (Chenab) from Tandi onwards. We will cross the district Headquarters of Lahaul & Spiti, Keylong. We will cross Darcha, the northernmost permanent human settlement of Himachal Pradesh. You will see, slowly the vegetation and population both become less. Today is relatively an easier day of cycling, keep your energy saved up for tomorrow’s steep ascent.

DAY 5 – PATSEO – SARCHU
The day starts with a steep ascent to the Baralacha La (16,040 ft), though the ascent comes only after Zing Zing Bar, but even an average ascent at this height is not easy. You will cross 2 lakes, Deepak Tal and Suraj Tal, the later being the bigger one. You will enter the No-tree line zone and leave the tree line zone. Apart from the ascent the ride will mostly be not on smooth tarmac roads, so…be ready for the exhilarating adventure. Reach Sarchu and spend the night there at a Camp.

DAY 6 – SARCHU – WHISKEY NALLAH
Wake up to a chilly & windy morning at a place where the meaning of civilization is almost unknown. You will leave the state of Himachal Pradesh and enter the Union territory of Ladakh. Today is most likely the toughest ascent of the trip; we will ride up the Ghata loops (21 hairpin bends) and also cross a pass, Nakee La (15,547 ft) and end our day at Whiskey Nallah.

DAY 7 – WHISKY NULLAH – DEBRING
The day starts by an ascent to a pass, Lachung La (16,616 ft), it is the second highest pass on the Manali-Leh Highway. After Lachung La the definition of a road changes, as you will ride on pure dirt track/road till Pang. After a small climb from Pang you will enter the very popular Morey plains. A plateau at a height of 15,500+ ft. with roads that make even non-cyclists droll over. We will reach Debring and spend the night over there.

DAY 8 – DEBRING – LATO/RUMPTSE
Today we will ride up to Tanglang La, the highest pass on the Manali-Leh highway at a height of 17,480 ft. The climb is both long and tough, brace yourselves from the start, as after a moment the climb seems to never end. Be patient as the view from the top is on a whole new level, and everything seems better after completing the treacherous climb. Descend down to the beautiful region of rumste/lato, the mountains of this region are of multiple colours/shades. You will start seeing civilization and trees/vegetation which will hold a new appreciation to you.

DAY 9 – RUMPTSE – LEH
You will leave for the joint capital of Ladakh and the biggest city/town at this side of the region. Today’s ride is easy, a cake walk for the people like you who have successfully completed the journey from Manali to Rumste. After reaching Upshi you will ride alongside the famous Indus River. You will enter the heart of the Buddhist country and see many monks, Monasteries, Chotans and Manes. Spend the night relaxing in Leh.

DAY 10 – LEH – LOCAL SIGHTSEEING
You are free to do whatever you wish, under some circumstances, of course. You have earned the rest day, roam around the city or go up to Pangong tso. Just be sure to be back by today itself.

DAY 11 – LEH – KHARDUNG LA – LEH
We will leave for the mighty Khardung La, the highest motorable road of the World. We hope you got enough rest yesterday, as today you will climb 6500+ft today in 42 km. It will be the epitome of all challenges that you faced during the whole tour. The view along the way is fantastic; you can see the whole Leh city from many spots. We can’t emphasize enough on the mesmerizing view from the top of the pass, it is surreal and the best way to end the Manali-Leh Cycling Tour.
