Overview
The Kumara Parvatha Trek, located in the Western Ghats of Karnataka, is one of the most challenging and rewarding treks in South India. Standing at an altitude of 1,712 meters, it is the second-highest peak in Karnataka and offers breathtaking views of lush green landscapes, dense forests,
and rocky terrains. The trek begins from Kukke Subramanya, a quaint town known for its ancient temple. The initial stretch passes through dense forests, providing shade and a tranquil environment. The first major halt is at Bhattara Mane, a simple homestay where trekkers can rest and refuel. From here, the trail becomes steeper and more demanding as it enters grasslands leading to the Kallu Mantapa, a stone structure and popular rest stop. The final stretch to the summit is the most strenuous, with steep ascents and rocky paths, but the effort is rewarded with panoramic views of the surrounding Western Ghats. On clear days, the sight is nothing short of magical. The trek spans approximately 14 km one way and is best undertaken over two days. It requires good physical fitness and preparation. Kumara Parvatha is a must-visit for adventure seekers, offering an exhilarating experience amidst pristine wilderness.

Begin your Kumara Parvatha adventure on Friday night with pickups from: Karachi Bakery, Indiranagar (9:00 PM), Domlur Skywalk (9:15 PM), Yeswanthpur Metro Station (10:30 PM), and People Tree Hospitals, Gorguntepalya (10:40 PM). Enjoy a quick dinner and settle in for the overnight journey to Somvarpet, the trek’s starting point. Return drop-offs will be at the same locations for convenience. Relax and gear up for an exciting trekking experience!

Relish a packed lunch at the summit with stunning views. Descend to the base and unwind by a cozy bonfire (weather permitting). End the day with a hearty dinner and a restful night, ready for the next day’s adventures.
Begin your day with breakfast before heading back to Bangalore. En route, visit the stunning Mallali Falls and enjoy its refreshing cascades amidst greenery. Explore the historic Manjarabad Fort for breathtaking panoramic views. Continue the scenic drive and arrive in Bangalore by 9:30 PM, wrapping up your unforgettable trekking adventure.
