8 Days Sikkim Roadtrip

Arrive in Siliguri and begin your scenic drive towards Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim. The journey takes you through beautiful mountain landscapes, winding roads and the lush valleys of the Teesta River. On reaching Gangtok, check in to your hotel and relax. If time permits, you can explore the local market, enjoy an evening walk around MG Marg and experience the vibrant atmosphere of this charming hill town. Overnight stay in Gangtok.

After breakfast, check out from your hotel and drive towards Lachung, a picturesque mountain village in North Sikkim. The route takes you through spectacular Himalayan scenery, dense forests, waterfalls and the Teesta River. En route, you can stop at viewpoints and scenic locations to enjoy the surrounding landscapes. On arrival in Lachung, check in to your hotel/homestay and spend the evening relaxing amidst the mountains. Overnight stay in Lachung.

Start your day early and drive towards the breathtaking Yumthang Valley, often referred to as the “Valley of Flowers.” Surrounded by snow-capped Himalayan peaks, the valley offers spectacular scenery, especially during the flowering season. You may also visit Zero Point, subject to weather and permit conditions, where the landscape is covered with snow for much of the year. After exploring Yumthang, return towards Lachung and continue your journey to Lachen, another beautiful mountain village in North Sikkim. Check in to your accommodation and relax. Begin the day early with a drive towards the magnificent Gurudongmar Lake , one of the highest lakes in India. The journey takes you through dramatic high-altitude landscapes, barren mountains and spectacular Himalayan terrain. Located at an altitude of around 17,000 feet, Gurudongmar offers an unforgettable experience with its crystal-clear waters and snow-covered surroundings. Spend some time at the lake before beginning the return journey to Lachen. Due to the high altitude, avoid strenuous activity and follow local safety instructions. Overnight stay in Lachen.

After breakfast, check out from Lachen and begin your scenic drive back towards Gangtok. Enjoy the changing landscapes as you descend from the high-altitude regions of North Sikkim into greener mountain valleys. Upon arrival in Gangtok, check in to your hotel and later proceed for local sightseeing. Depending on time and operational conditions, you can visit attractions such as Rumtek Monastery, Banjhakri Falls, Ganesh Tok, Tashi View Point and Hanuman Tok . In the evening, explore MG Marg and enjoy the cafés and local shopping. Overnight stay in Gangtok.

After an early breakfast, proceed for an exciting excursion to Nathula Pass , the historic Indo-China border pass located at a high altitude in the Eastern Himalayas. The route offers spectacular mountain views and passes through scenic locations including Tsomgo Lake. Subject to permits, weather and road conditions, continue towards Nathula Pass and spend some time exploring the area. After the excursion, return to Gangtok and spend the evening at leisure. After breakfast, check out from your hotel and drive towards Pelling, a peaceful hill destination in West Sikkim. The journey takes you through scenic mountain roads, forests and traditional Sikkimese villages. On arrival, check in to your hotel and relax. Later, depending on the available time, explore some of Pelling's popular attractions, including Pemayangtse Monastery, Rabdentse Ruins, Skywalk and Singshore Bridge .
