Are you planning to take a group Leh Ladakh bike trip? There are a few things that you should keep at the top of your mind. You must follow some basic rules or guidelines to ensure that your group ride is a fun, adventurous and safe affair.
5 Things To Keep in Mind During a Group Leh Ladakh Bike Trip
1. Be On Time
It is very crucial to be on time when you are travelling in a group in comparison to when travelling solo. Because it is an altogether different scenario when you ride by yourself, you can make up that time at the next rest stop or fuel station. However, when you are riding in a group, making up that five minutes is a bit tough as there are a lot more people who have to fill up their bikes, get a bite to eat or just answer nature’s call. So, all in all, if you are not punctual on a group ride, you will end up covering a lesser distance, and that over a long road trip can turn a five-day ride into a week-long journey.
2. Be ready to go
Make sure that you are always ready to go. It is important that you show up on time and also check your motorcycle’s tyre pressure the previous night, and fill up fuel, as that is all the time you will end up wasting. Moreover, it will just not be you who is waiting, but everyone who is riding with you. If you are leaving on a long road trip, make sure you pack and load up the previous night. By doing so the only thing that you have to wait for in the morning before setting off is your engine getting warm.
3. Maintain a safe distance
Most importantly you have to ride safely at all times. When on a bike trip to Ladakh in a group it doesn’t mean that you have to ride on your fellow rider’s tail all the time, keep a safe distance from the rider in front of you and make sure the rider behind you does the same as well. This is beneficial in avoiding any mishap. If you maintain a safe distance, you will be able to avoid any obstacle that the rider in front faces and then you can be cautious and help out the person who was too close to avoid it.
4. Ride at your pace, don’t hurry
Generally, all riding groups have people who ride at different speeds. The point of riding together is certainly not riding at the same speed as the person in front of you. You should always ride in your comfort zone. Ideally, the fastest person or the person who knows the route should be riding at the front, and he or she should stop occasionally to make sure that all the riders are being able to follow them. Also, there should be a dedicated person at the end who ensures that no rider is left behind.
5. Be responsible
The main point of riding in a group is that you are all responsible for one another. If a fellow rider has a mishap, it shall be your responsibility to help them out and if you were to have a mishap, it is the responsibility of your group to help you. Thus it is always a good idea to know your group beforehand so that you are comfortable with them.
Assuming that the above guide is of great help to you and you shall follow all these guidelines on your group bike trip to Ladakh.
