Day 1: Rishikesh to Chopta

In the early morning, we will stop at Rishikesh, where travelers opting for the “Rishikesh to Rishikesh” package will join us. Here, you can enjoy a self-sponsored breakfast before we continue on our journey.

From Rishikesh, we’ll head towards Chopta, located at an altitude of 2,680 meters (8,790 feet). Our route will take us through the picturesque towns of Devprayag, Rudraprayag, and Ukhimath. A brief stop at Devprayag will allow you to witness the stunning confluence of the Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers.

We’ll take a scenic lunch break at Srinagar, a charming spot known for its natural beauty. Take some time to relax and soak in the peaceful surroundings.

By 5:00 PM, we’ll reach our campsite at Baniya Kund. Upon arrival, enjoy a hot cup of tea as you unwind and take in the breathtaking views. As the evening sets in, gather around the campfire, relax under the stars, and enjoy the warmth before heading to your tents for a restful night.

Day 2 – Explore the Chopta Circuit: Chopta to Tungnath and Back

Tungnath Temple and Chandrashila Peak
After a hearty breakfast, the day’s adventure begins with a 5 km trek from Chopta to Tungnath, one of the highest Shiva temples in the world. The path gradually ascends through picturesque meadows and dense forests, offering a glimpse of the Himalayan beauty that surrounds you. As you reach Tungnath, you’ll be rewarded with a visit to the ancient Tungnath temple, believed to be over a thousand years old. This sacred site draws pilgrims from all over, adding a spiritual element to the trek.

The journey doesn’t end at the temple. From Tungnath, the next leg takes you further up to **Chandrashila Peak**, towering at over 12,000 feet. The climb offers breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks and the rugged Garhwal Himalayas. Along the way, you’ll encounter Himalayan birds, and the serenity of the surroundings will make every step feel like a privilege. The forest of tall oak, maple, and pine trees that line the trail adds to the mystique, as does the overwhelming silence of the mountains.

At the summit of Chandrashila, take a moment to absorb the panoramic views and feel the calm energy of the mountains. After soaking in the splendor of the peak, you’ll descend back to Chopta, where you’ll spend the night camping under the stars, reflecting on the day’s awe-inspiring experiences.

Day 3 – Chopta to Deoriatal to Rishikesh | 2.5 km Trek & 6-Hour Drive

Deoriatal Lake and Journey to Rishikesh
Start your day early at 5:30 AM with a warm, energizing breakfast to fuel up for the trek ahead. After breakfast, you’ll embark on a 2.5 km hike to **Deoriatal Lake**, located at an altitude of 2,438 meters (8,000 feet). The trail is scenic and serene, offering a glimpse of the Alaknanda and Ganga rivers nearby, as you make your way through lush forests. The trek takes around 2 hours, and when you reach the lake, you’ll be greeted by the breathtaking sight of its shimmering waters, surrounded by snow-capped peaks and a serene atmosphere. During winter, temperatures at the lake range from -5°C to a maximum of 12°C, adding a magical chill to the landscape. The sunlight reflecting off the snow creates a mesmerizing, almost otherworldly scene.

After taking in the beauty of Deoriatal, we continue the trek to **Sari Village**, where we’ll arrive by around 10:00 AM. Here, you’ll rest for a while, soaking in the last moments in the mountains before preparing to head back.

By 10:30 AM, the journey continues with a scenic drive back to **Rishikesh**. The drive takes about 6 hours, but the time seems to fly by as the mountain views, winding roads, and crisp air keep you captivated. As you descend into the valley, the landscape transforms, and the sense of peace and tranquility from the high-altitude trek lingers within you. The clean mountain air gradually detoxifies your body, and the memories of the pristine natural beauty will stay with you long after you’ve left the hills behind.
